I dislike debuffs. I dislike them intensely. I've always hated having a curable debuff on me (curably only when someone in my group has a curing ability I haven't got) and just watching it sit there on me, doing it's evil debuffing.
Poisons and Curses are my personal bane, of course, as a Priest. I also am not fond of Magic and Diseases on the people around me, so if it's on them I take it off as soon as healing or cooldowns permit. I'm mildly (perhaps mildly is the wrong term here, perhaps rabidly is the term I was looking for) jealous of Paladins who can cure three different kinds of debuffs, and I don't feel that the fact that they can only remove stuff from friendly targets nearly makes up for that fact.
Today, however, my Mod of choice is for just such occasions as debuffs landing on people you'd prefer to protect. Today, I roll out my vote for Decursive.
Really, there isn't a lot of choice in this matter once you get into dealing with groups of people larger than 5... it's possible, but it's less fun for lazy people. Like me.
Here's what Decursive does: It pops a very small little box up on your screen for each person within your group or raid, and their pets. When a debuff that is curable lands on one of the people under your protection, specifically a debuff that your class is capable of curing, the mostly transparent box representing that person will become a more solid color (the one corresponding with the debuff type - blue for Magic, purpley pink for Curse, green for Poison, yellowish orangish brown for Disease), making it more visible. You may click on this box to remove said curable debuff - if you can cure more than one type of malady, a left click will cure one kind of debuff, and a right click will cure the other kind of debuff. You get to choose what kind of click will cure what kind of debuff in the configuration menu.
It'll also make a nice deep bell sound when your mouse passes over someone with a debuff you can cure, though I honestly find that to be more annoying than useful. It's got a debuff list which currently has extremely limited usefulness - it used to function as a "Click in one spot and the list will trot past allowing you to cure everyone by clicking and not having to move your mouse," but that functionality was removed when Blizz decided it was not in the spirit of the game they were trying to create. Or some such.
This is a mod that I dream that every class that can removed debuffs uses - yes, I include Mages in that dream, as well as non-Tree Druids, non-Holy Paladins as well as Shadow Priests (Shadow Priests no longer drop out of Shadow Form to cure diseases, so your excuses are nil to me). This mod makes it easy to spot who has a debuff you can cure, and makes it ridiculously easy for you to remedy the situation. It's quick, it's easy, it's a gorgeous creation, and even if you're in a 5 man you can find a use for this.
Azjol'Nerub's first boss, with two Paladins (both Tank main specs, but one gets to Ret with this setup), one Priest (moi), one Warrior and one Deathknight. Poisons - guess who can't do jack about that? I hate that boss with a burning passion. But you know what? It was okay. Because we had two paladins who were capable of curing poisons, and one of them wasn't busy tanking. So he could fix that deplorable stupid debuff. And apparently that's pretty much all his cooldowns had time for...
In raiding, back in the day there's the Spider wing in Naxx. Lots of curses going around, the kind that reduce the healing characters take from their healers. This is a BAD THING to have on the tank. And if you haven't got a Druid or Shaman healer, you're probably going to have to rely upon a Mage or non-tree Druid to fix this (assuming it's not the Druid Tank, though if you're running Naxx you've probably got two tanks and thus should still manage to find a way....).
This really is a mod that everyone who can remove debuffs should have, even if you're not putting it to use constantly.
Make your healers' lives easier, please. Or we'll all role pure DPS classes and you'll be up a creek without a paddle.

As a mage, I wholeheartedly agree that anybody who can remove debuffs needs to get this mob (especially if you attend raids with any regularity).
And, thank you for providing me with my next topic of ponderings! XD
For my first commenter, anything.
Yay! I can comment! Now I have to remember what I was going to say yesterday...
Oh yeah. So far, all the add-ons you've talked about are ones I use and loove. The one problem I have with X-PERL is vehicle fights... no matter how many different check boxes I... well, check... I can't figure out how to get it to show me my (vehicle's) debuffs on the target, as well as others' debuffs, as well as buffs and debuffs on me (my vehicle).
This is especially annoying during the Malygos fight.
Any ideas?
@Miss Medicina - Hrm... I can see my target's debuffs with X-Perl, but I've no idea whether I can see debuffs on my own vehicle.
As for Maly - I never ever ever liked that fight. Probably because healing it never ever ever worked right for me lol. Honestly, I haven't visited Maly in about 6-9 months at this point, so I can't be of any help for the buffs and debuffs from that fight (I think my guild dislikes him as much as I do, though likely for slightly different reasons). For something like FL though, or Oculus, I think I have managed to get my vehicle's debuffs to show properly.
On Target, I have Enable Buffs checked, Castable Buffs and Only My Buffs unchecked, Big Buffs checked, Pet Too checked, Big Stealable unchecked. Enable Debuffs checked, Curable and Only My unchecked, Big Debuffs checked. (This was the only way I could manage to tell my own buffs and debuffs apart from everyone else's, vehicle or character). I have Wrap Buffs and Buffs Above checked as well due to the way I have my screen set up right now.
Come to think it of, it might be a matter of the Pet Too box being checked.
As for buffs and debuffs on my vehicle, the only place I've noticed my vehicle buffs is in ToC 5 man during the mounted stage (no debuffs to watch there, though), and that one shows up in my normal buffs area in the upper right (I do remember that I had to make a point of turning off X-Perl's buffs because they were in such a foreign location for me, and there never seemed to be enough room to show all of the buffs I had during raids. Rather than figure out how to get it to work properly, I just went back to the stock UI's version since it worked just fine for me to begin with. I might want to fiddle around with that now that I'm not right in the middle of a raid, though!
And goodness me - Welcome to my blog!
