Hunter, Gatherer

But mostly Gatherer.

I'm an Enchanter / Miner on my Priest, and I enjoy it a lot. Well, I enjoy mining. Not the farming part so much, though it has a lot of uses. Enchanting... well, not a huge fan because there's so much competition for the materials. In a group, the entire group rolls on the greens that drop for the mats it creates when disenchanted, but the same doesn't happen for Miners, Skinners or Herbalists (they might roll between the others who have the same skill, but it's not an open roll for the whole group).

So the new Abyssal Shatter spell pleases me - most groups of non-enchanters, if they're your friends anyway, tend to pass on the Abyss that you get from farmed Heroics. You know, the kind you only visited to get the darn Daily done. Which, in turn, can turn into tasty, very useful Enchanting mats now.

Though I suppose it still really, really sucks for people who can't find their friends when they need to farm mats. But as things stand right now, most people can make enough money to buy their mats, so I'm guessing that there's a high enough population of Enchanters who ARE getting lucky with the people they're running with. I admit that during pure PUG runs, however, pickings are particularly slim.

You know those people who roll for shards and crystals when they've won something during the run? Those people I ignore, when they roll. They got a piece of something, usually an item that could be turned into a shard, so they've got their "DE Roll" piece. They can gnaw on their pinkies.

So Enchanting I find to be more of a headache than anything else, and I don't do enchants for many people. I've never found it to be a money making source, though that's my play style more than anything else.

But Mining... I find Mining to be sort of soothing. I use the ore for my Jewel Crafter, the bars for my Engineers, the elemental crystals and Eternals for just about everything, and the gems, well, those are a great bonus. Having the 310% speed Violet Proto Drake helps a lot, though I have more depth perception issues on it in terms of landing in the right spot.

So, because my guy's and my personal Guild Bank was nearly devoid of Saronite Ore, I decided to go Mining. My JC also needed Eternal Earths, and our Alchemists needed all kinds of Eternals for Transmutes. I wound up with about 6 stacks of ore, several Eternals, and a bunch of Crystalized bits and pieces, as well as two blue quality gems and 6 green quality gems.

Now... my Warlock alt is off to do some cloud sucking in Sholazar Basin, if you'll excuse me. :)
