A Day for Goodies!

I'll preface this by saying that it ended with a complete wipe.

Ok that's the whole preface. On to the good stuff.

So I've been turning in Triumph Emblems for Crusader Orbs, because they sell very very well and I had about 200 Emblems burning a hole in my pocket and only any actual use for ... is it 45 or 75? Anyway. I can't even use what Emblems I have until I get another Trophy, and I'm so low on the PR list (we use EPGP) that it's going to be a very long time before I get that last Trophy - and that's assuming I'll even want it anymore. At the pace I'm going, 3.3.3 will be out before I'm high enough to get the darn thing.

ANYWAY. So I bought 2 Orbs, sold them one at a time over the course of a few days. Bought two more, tossed them up on the AH one at a time (again), and they were pretty swiftly bought up by a couple of people. The second person also bought out my Runed Orb as well, and I think some Moonweave. So I hustled back to the Triumph vendor and bought four more Crusader Orbs. My Engineer is my banker now, and in Dalaran, so she took a hard look at the AH and realized - there were NO other Crusader Orbs up for sale. So I tossed mine up for slightly higher than I'd been selling them for thus far, but not so high that I myself would have gagged at the gouging price had I been on the market to purchase said item.

The same person bought those four Orbs within a few hours. Apparently they really, really wanted that gear piece.

So I found my banker with 17k gold. Very suddenly. I did a double take. And then I sent the money to Chirri, and she bought herself a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. I invited two guildies who hunted me down in Dalaran to take a look at my new prize, and then jumped down the well outside the northern Dalaran bank into the Sewer.

Something of note: Traveler's Tundra Mammoth doesn't fit through the doorways leading out of the Dalaran Sewers. I told my passengers that the only way out on the mammoth appeared to be down the pipe and straight down - they encouraged me to jump. I'm going to admit that I was aware that a few months ago they changed passenger mounts to no longer eat the damage characters would otherwise take from falling. I asked them if they'd heard that and they didn't care. They wanted the jump. So the Mage tossed Slow Fall on me and hopped back on and we took a leisurely drift out of the pipe.

You know, if characters could handle just a liiiittle bit more range before the fall would mean instant death, we'd have made it. We were right over that little rise in the mountains between Dragonblight and Crystalsong Forest when Slow Fall wore off.

We all died, rudely ejected from our seats.

And we kept getting raid invites bounced off of us, since we were already grouped...

Anyway, so I got my new Mammoth, and it was beautiful.

Today, Blizzard sent out Mr. Chilly pets to everyone who's already merged their WoW accounts with their Battle.Net accounts, so Chirri (and every other character I have) got another pet. A Penguin without glowing red eyes. Very cute.

So the raid gets going. We have one official Main Tank logged on - my Siens :) - and we're looking over our DPS to see who we can talk into off tanking for us this evening... when this guy signs on. There's a chorus of, "OMG, it's a Tan!" and greetings and a few baffled questions about who this guy is -- anyway, he used to be one of our Main Tanks. In fact, the former only Paladin Main Tank. So we've got ourselves another Tank! YAY! But he's never done the new Onyxia fight, he's done ToC only once before (a month ago). So the raid leader needs to bring him up to speed, blah blah blah.

Onyxia's down, people are happy, etc and so on. Move on to ToC and kill more stuffs. I messed up on the healing assignments for Twins, but we get over that and move on. Anyway - a cloth belt dropped. A really nice cloth belt dropped. I won it! YAY! My belt no longer looks out of place on my dress! (Not a big deal, only slightly annoying, but that still counts as annoying! And it's taken care of now! YES!)

Then we had to stop because Tan had to log, and neither of the other MTs had logged on. So the raid was called.

Someone wanted to know if anyone was interested in getting a 10 man going. Me, I was kind of like, "Meh," since I've been doing 10 mans pretty regularly and they're kind of stale now. But then... then he went and mentioned OS 3D. And he was looking for some people who could pull 5k DPS. And I was interested, but I'll be honest, I wasn't sure how I'd handle healing that. Granted I shouldn't have to heal much of anything besides the tank using the zerg method, but still... I was out of practice avoiding flame walls in there.

We wiped several times - and this time it wasn't my fault! YAY! I got to put my new mammoth to use, so we were kept very very repaired. We got him pretty low several times, below 10% except that invariably something had already gone horribly wrong and there was no way we'd finish him off.

Then we had an attempt where none of the DPS died early due to over-aggro, I didn't have adds on me, I wasn't one or two shot by Tenebrous, the Shaman didn't die to something random and things went well. Very well. Until the Main Tank took about a 25k hit, while I was avoiding a flame wall, which was quickly followed by a 28k hit while I was still trying to patch him up from the first one. The tank died... I died... various DPS died. But about half of us remained up and kept plunking away at him (he was around 7% when we lost the tank, I think) and somehow, they got him down.

But the adds were still up. Someone clicked on the corpse and the loot popped up on the screen.

We wiped.

And then we rolled on the loot and were happy. (the guy who suggested a 10 man, and then decided to go for OS 3D won the mount)

Chirri of the Nightfall, and the Duo Achievement as well.

Three achievements in one night, a new belt, a new pet, and a new title.

It was a pretty good day to be Chirri.

I'm totally broke now...
