Alting it Up

Totally off topic here.

I've been levelling my mage just a smidge, and very very recently. Right now she's shuffling her way around Grizzly Hills - not my favorite zone to quest in, but it's quite pretty. The music is fitting, but eventually it had me looking for my pellet gun, so I had to turn it off.

Tonight I was making my way from Amber Lodge over to the Westfall Brigade Encampment. Following the road, as I got closer, I found a small girl in one of the wooden trapper's towers. She was accompanied by an obese rabbit by the name of Mr. Floppy. The girl informed me that her name was Emily, and that she was lost (also a song and dance about wolves). She needed an escort back to the Encampment, where her brother worked as a Squire. I offered my assistance, and the little lost lady stepped out of the tower... and proceeded to wander aimlessly into the woods.

Despite claims of being utterly lost, she managed to aim herself in the proper direction. Mr. Floppy attracted the attention of several bears along the way, and some wolves appeared out of nowhere, apparently hungry for the taste of rabbit flesh. Emily wailed, pleading for my assistance, and because I'm a quest experience whore (and like money) I complied. The second wolf was particularly  nasty, managing to bite into Mr. Floppy before I got a good shot at it, and proceeded to fight me with a mouth full of struggling rabbit.

I subdued the wolf, and Mr. Floppy dropped to the ground, letting loose a terribly scream of agony. He appeared deceased, but Emily begged him to stay away from the light. And suddenly Mr. Floppy bounded to his feet, and continued toward the Encampment.

We reached the meadow before the Encampment otherwise unmolested, and Emily thanked me for my assistance and asked me to let her brother Walter know that she'd made her way back... and she vanished (along with Mr. Floppy).

This should be a happy ending to a frightening ordeal, but I'll tell you something: My mage has a fear of ghosts. And little girls and bunnies who find me in the middle of nowhere, claim to be lost, and then lead me to a safe town only to DISAPPEAR into thin air while asking me to inform their relatives that they're back (I swear, if I were a lost child I would run to my brother and cry on his shoulder when I got back, not ask the person who helped me to let him know I was around) immediately make my mind scream "GHOST!"

So what I've got here is a malevolent little sister ghost who's carrying a grudge against her older brother who couldn't go for a walk with her because he had to do his Squiring duties. Never mind that the little girl (and BAIT for Light's sake!) wandered off into the forest alone.

I noticed, while I was at it, that the bunny had about 6-7k hp. Not many less than I. I referred to him as rabbit Rambo at one point, while chatting with friends as I did the quest. Mr. Floppy is huge, as far as rabbits go. It occurred to me that while Emily and Mr. Floppy had been lost, and found shelter within that tower, and eventually died there... which one would have died first? Mr. Floppy's ghost didn't look at all hungry to me.
